Well this has been a question i have always wanted to ask my self, as i know any one can pick up a camera and take a photo upload it to their computer then run their favourite photo-editng program to begin applying effects to it.For example take this photo on the left which was taken with a Fuji Finepix 602 it was my first serious digital camera, after starting out with a Kodak DC210 back in 2000 .I had to replace my Fuji Finepix 602 having accidently dropped it back in 2007, the camera i have now is a Canon S3 IS , i also aqquired a Finepix AX245
The experimenting and applying various effects to my photos didn’t occur to much later, say round about
2003/04.One thing to bear in mind way back in 1999, i was trying out a bit of photo-editing but nothing in comparision to the image seen on the right
Which was taken in my local cemetary across the road from where i live. I have lots of photos of this cemetary and should really get them on to flickr Moving on about the subject is my photography art, well i enjoy making images. But now i have a passion for photography as well.
Being an artist helps me to see photography from a different angle and perspective too, when it comes to the camera itself this can be any thing from a point and shoot right up to a DSLR, choosing the right one can be difficult.
At the same time what subjects will you choose to focus on,do you need extra lenses for close up work or maybe for portraits too. Getting to know your equipment will help you too, plus understanding about focus, composition and exposure. Seeing that i have been creating art for quite some time each piece that i create is different, the same goes for taking a photo,if i get a picture right first time round this then get turned in to art.Other wise i will keep trying until i get it right.
